The Board of Directors of the Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Remi Warner as the Centre’s permanent Executive Director, effective August 1, 2025.
Remi brings to this leadership role a record of dedicated public service and deep commitment to advancing human rights in Ontario. During his tenure as Interim Executive Director, Remi demonstrated integrity and strategic vision to strengthen the Centre. Remi successfully spearheaded the HRLSC’s first stakeholder informed five-year Strategic Plan, which was pivotal in helping secure significant grant funding. This funding will enhance the Centre’s early dispute resolution and experiential education, outreach and resource development, and improve data collection to ensure better informed decision-making.
Please join us in congratulating Remi and wishing him well as he continues to steward the HRLSC’s important work with a sense of renewed purpose, commitment to equity and innovation. The HRLSC looks forward to working together with him to advance our mandate of championing human rights justice for communities across the Province.
The HRLSC is an independent, board-governed agency funded by the Government of Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General. The HRLSC advances equality and protects human rights by providing a range of accessible, high quality legal advice and support services to individuals who have faced discrimination or harassment contrary to Ontario’s Human Rights Code. The HRLSC was established in 2008 as one of three pillars of Ontario’s human rights system. The other two pillars are the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
