The Human Rights Legal Support Centre’s (HRLSC) Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Sarah Colman as the newest member of the board appointed by the Province.
Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Sarah Colman brings more than 20 years of legal experience as the retired General Counsel for the Ontario Principals’ Council, a professional association representing principals and vice-principals working in Ontario’s English public school system. During this time, Sarah provided legal support to l’Association des directions et directions-adjointes des écoles franco-ontariennes (ADFO). She currently serves on the Boards of Family Services Perth Huron and the Stratford General Hospital Foundation, and also volunteers for the annual Kiwanis Festival of Performing Arts, and the Bruce Trail Conservancy. Additionally, Sarah serves as a member on the Animal Care Review Board and Pay Equity Hearings Tribunal. The HRLSC looks forward to drawing on the breadth of Sarah’s professional experiences and commitment to public service in helping advance its 2024-2029 Strategic Plan.
The HRLSC Board of Directors would also like to take the opportunity to say farewell to departing member Mary Joe Freire and extend our sincere gratitude for her longtime contributions to the Centre as former acting chair and vice-chair. Her leadership will be greatly missed.
