FAQ: HRLSC Temporary Service and Communications Outage (March 26–30, 2026)
1) What is happening and when?
The Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC) will be completing planned technology upgrades to improve the reliability, security, and accessibility of our services.
As a result:
- Our office will be closed on Friday, March 27th , 2026
- The Client Portal will be unavailable from Thursday, March 26 at 5:00 PM until Monday, March 30 at 9:00 AM
- Once back online, the client portal will be available at a new link: ctt.cp.hrlsc.on.ca.
- Emails sent to staff during this time may not be received or responded to until after the update is complete.
- Staff email formats are changing, and clients may receive emails from addresses that look a little different. However, old addresses will still receive emails, and non-staff emails such as notices@hrlsc.on.ca remain the same.
We appreciate your patience during this update.
2) Is the HRLSC website changing?
No, the HRLSC website address remains the same, but the Client Portal link will change as of Monday March 30th, 2026 to ctt.cp.hrlsc.on.ca. Please update your website links accordingly.
3) Will my information be safe during the updates?
Yes, protecting your privacy and information security remains a top priority throughout the update process. There will be no changes to information already stored on the Client Portal before the outage begins, as it will be moved into the new system.
4) Will my Client Portal information be saved if there’s an outage?
Users will be logged out of our Client Portal system starting at 5:00pm on Thursday, March 26th, and if you try to submit information during this update, your information will not be saved. You must complete work before 5pm on Thursday March 26th, 2026, or wait until after Monday, March 30th, 2026 at 9am to re-access the Client Portal. There will be no changes to information already stored on the Client Portal.
5) Can I still contact the HRLSC by email?
Emails sent between March 26 at 5:00 PM and March 30 at 9:00 AM may not be received or responded to until after the system update is complete.
If you have a retainer with HRLSC legal staff and need to contact them, we encourage you to do so before Thursday March 26th, 2026.
Following these scheduled updates, our staff email addresses will change formats, and clients may receive emails from staff that look a little different. Please update your contacts. However, note that emails sent to previous email addresses will continue to be received, and existing non-staff accounts like notices@hrlsc.on.ca will remain the same.
6) Are phone services available during the updates?
Our office and phone lines will be closed on Friday, March 27 while we complete planned technology upgrades. We are set to reopen as usual on Monday, March 30 at 9:00am.
7) How will I know when everything is back to normal?
We will provide a confirmation announcement on our website and social media to confirm the updates are complete.
